Composite Fillings
If you have a cavity, fillings are a pretty common solution. However the type of material used to fill a cavity can vary depending on your dentists preferences. Many dentists still use “silver” fillings which are made of amalgam. Not only does this give your tooth an unnatural color but amalgam contains various metals including mercury. While many people believe that amalgam fillings are safe, there are several studies that claim otherwise. Lots of dentist prefer to use amalgam because it can last longer than other types of fillings and are typically lower in cost.
We will never compromise your health based on what might be the “cheaper” solution and will not use silver fillings. Composite fillings look better and won’t expose you to unnecessary mercury.
Smile Makeover
A smile makeover has one purpose – to enhance your smile 🙂
The process usually begins by learning about your goals and what your desired outcome is. The makeover might then consist of a treatment or series of dental procedures (often on more than one tooth) that will achieve a beautiful smile. Some of the common procedures include: whitening, veneers, crowns, or implants. Obviously everyone’s goals are different and we’ll go over everything with you in detail so we can build your perfect smile.
Veneers
A Veneer is a tooth-colored shell that we adhere to the front of your teeth. They’re typically used on the front teeth to correct issues that are visible when you smile. Some of the most common issues that veneers can help with are things like tooth cracks, chips, gaps between the teeth, and teeth that “look small” in relation to the others.
Crowns & Bridges
A dental crown is a typically used to protect and restore a damaged tooth. Think of it like a cap that gets placed on top of a tooth. A crown can be made of various materials like: gold, ceramic, porcelain, and ceramic fused to metal.
A dental bridge is a special device that “bridges” a gap made by one or more teeth that may have been extracted or that have fallen out. Bridges are usually protected by dental crowns that surround the tooth and provide support. In the past, dentures and dental bridges were the only options to replace missing teeth. However, you may be interested in dental implants for a more permanent solution.
